17 April 1971.  The grand plan for London's buses - 'Bus Reshaping' - was into its third year now, and there was a need to admit to some if its failings.

The notice shown right was posted on bus stops in the area.

Some of the roads in Hackney Wick have had no service since that date (although they are only a short walk from several good routes).
